ETERNALLY RICH
        NEWS

D's picnic wish (we waited for town with less bugs)

Praise God
For the time we spent in town
That He answered our prayers
  concerning our broken boat
  motors

Please Pray
For perseverance and strength
For people willing and able to help
  us with learning their language
  and culture

Rachel and boys visiting a lady from church in town

Return to village--Sun after rain and raincoats
We are never quite sure what we will find when we return to the village after being away for a while. This time, we were greeted by a practically empty village with many gone to town and the news that a small wildcat had eaten all of our chickens. There was only one guy to help us carry our stuff, so it was tiring and took a good part of the afternoon to make all the trips from the river to our house.
Our time in town was a nice break. We stayed at the base while Ed and Adnor and Nina went to our mission’s annual conference. Rachel and the boys did a little visiting, and we bought supplies. After a series of difficulties, we were finally able to get both boat motors travel-worthy right before our trip. We are thankful that we finally got the right parts for the outboard and the mechanic finally decided to work on it right before the deadline and he finally figured out how to put it back together. The traveling itself was nice and fast and even the boys did well despite a little rain. We hope to get a boardwalk made that goes from the village to the river bank, spanning the 650 feet of muddy ground.
I (Brian) feel much better than I did at the beginning of January, but I’m not out of the woods yet (pun intended). We are excited to spend some time in the US starting at the end of April. But first, we will have a language evaluation during the first half of April, so we need to continue working diligently on language and culture until then.
Our progress is not where we wish it were, but we are glad that some progress has been made. The fact that their language was largely unintelligible to us when we first arrived, but we can understand various things now, shows that some progress has been made.
Thank you for lifting us up to our Heavenly Father in prayer.
In Christ,
